When you’re ready to change your propane cylinder, follow the steps below for a safe and secure process:

1. Turn the valve hand wheel off (clockwise rotation).
2. Turn off the gas tap fitted to the appliance. Wait until the burner and pilot lights have gone out. Never remove the regulator (or connecting nut) with the bottle valve open, so make sure it’s closed.
3. Use a spanner to remove the regulator. Remember, it’s a left-hand thread, so you will need to turn clockwise.
4. Replace the protective plug in the valve outlet.
